Buy a motorbike in Pattaya
If you are staying long term, buying a bike pays for itself within a few months of rental. These listings are from private owners — mostly expats leaving and locals upgrading — so prices are usually below dealer level.
The key thing is the green book (registration) and matching frame numbers. Transfer is done at the transport office and is inexpensive; without the book you cannot insure the bike or legally sell it on.

Frequently asked
- What does a used scooter cost?
- A 5–8 year old Honda Click or Scoopy is roughly 20,000–35,000 ฿. Models under three years old start around 40,000 ฿. Larger motorcycles are priced separately.
- What should I check before buying?
- The green book and its owner, the frame number, current insurance and inspection dates, tyres and brakes, and signs of crashes. Taking the bike to a shop with the seller is a fair request.
- Can a foreigner register a bike?
- Yes. You will usually need your passport, a valid visa or extension and proof of address (a residence certificate from immigration or a rental contract — requirements vary by office).
