Privacy Policy

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is the “Farang” project — the owner and administrator of the website farang.market.

For any questions about your data, write to privacy@farang.market.

2. What data we collect

At registration: your email address and password (the password is stored only in encrypted form; we cannot see it). If you sign in with Google — your email and name as provided by Google.

If you sign in or link your account via Telegram — your Telegram ID, name and username (@username), and avatar, as provided by Telegram. The username is needed so buyers can message you on Telegram.

If you use our Telegram bot (@farangmarketbot) to post or edit a listing or to contact support — we receive the same data from your Telegram account (ID, name, @username) and the content you send the bot (text, price, photos, support message). An account is created for you automatically from your Telegram.

In your profile: a name or nickname and your Telegram contact — needed so buyers can reach you. Listings show ONLY the separate «Name shown in listings» field that you fill in yourself; if it is empty, no name is shown to buyers. Your Telegram username is never printed as text on the page — it is only used by the «Message on Telegram» button.

In listings: the text, price, category, district and photos you upload.

Posting a listing with your consent: if you are a seller who posted a listing in a public Telegram channel, the administrators may — after first obtaining your consent in a private chat — post that listing on the site on your behalf. In that case we store your public Telegram username (@username) so the contact button leads to you and so the listing is automatically linked to your account the first time you sign in via your Telegram. After you sign in, you fully manage such listings (you can edit or delete them) under “My listings”.

When you contact support (via the site or the bot): we store the conversation for that request — your messages and support replies, any photos or screenshots you attach, and the ticket number, its status and message timestamps. This is needed to handle and resolve your request. Attachments are kept privately and are accessible only to support.

Technical data: small cookies needed to sign in and keep your session, plus basic service logs about the site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Anonymous visit statistics: we count how many pages are opened per day and how many browsers visit. For this, your browser stores a cookie containing ONE date — when your browser was last counted. It holds no ID, name or other identifier, so it cannot identify you or track you across other sites. We only see daily totals.

Listing order in the feed: so that the list is not identical for everyone and does not shift while more listings load, your browser stores a cookie with a random number for the duration of the session. It is not linked to anything, contains no information about you and is erased when you close your browser.

3. Why we use the data

To register you and let you sign in; to publish your listings; to let buyers and sellers contact each other via Telegram; to check listings for prohibited content and keep the site safe; and to make the site work.

We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone for advertising.

4. Legal basis

We process your data based on your consent (given via the checkbox at registration) and to the extent necessary to provide the service you use.

5. Who we entrust with processing (service providers)

To run the site we use trusted external services that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, photo storage and sign-in system.

• Vercel — website hosting (serves pages to visitors).

• Telegram — sign-in and account verification, posting and editing listings and contacting support through our bot, and contact between buyer and seller (only if you use it).

• Google — sign-in with a Google account (only if you choose it).

• Resend — sending service emails (for example, email confirmation) and delivering your support messages to our mailbox.

• Anthropic — automated checking of listing text for prohibited content (AI moderation).

These services may process data on servers outside Thailand. We choose providers that protect your data.

6. What other users can see

A listing is public: its text, photos and the contact method you provide are visible to all visitors. Do not include personal details in a listing that you would not want to be public.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. You can delete your listings at any time and ask us to delete your account and related data.

8. Your rights

You can: view and correct your data in your profile; delete your listings under “My listings”; request deletion of your account and all related data; withdraw your consent to processing.

9. Age

The site is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you are younger, please do not use the service.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy. The current version is always published on this page, with the date of the latest change shown at the top.
